When you’re offering a digital product—such as a mobile app, a piece of software, or an e-book—how do you make it feel like the kind of thing customers can’t wait to get into their hands? How do you make it feel … real? The newest landing page template we’ve created at LeadPages has just about the best answer I’ve seen so far. In fact, I’m pretty impressed with what our designers and developers have been able to create. Take a first look at the new Mobile App Download Page, as seen on a mobile-sized screen:

I’m showing this off as it’ll appear on smartphones because the page is built to promote your mobile app. But with a few tweaks, this template can work beautifully for any digital giveaway or product you want to offer. Get your copy here and start playing around with it yourself:

If you’re already a LeadPages® member, you can find the Mobile App Download Page waiting inside your account. Otherwise, you’ll want to unzip the template file, make any modifications you desire to the code, and host your new page on your own website. This template has some special features, so let’s take a closer look at some of the most important sections.

A First Fold Meant to Make Your App Irresistible

screen 1

Whenever we release a template that includes an image of a 3-D book or report cover, we tend to get one question: how can I make my own product look like that? It’s not necessarily difficult to create an illustration of your own digital product using some simple software. But this time around, we thought we’d make it all the easier for you to present a slick, professional image of your download. All you need is a regular flat image of your app’s home screen, your free report’s front page, or your e-book’s cover. Even a simple screenshot from your website could do the trick. Check out a few of the possibilities:

image change

By placing your image on a smartphone screen, this page invites visitors to reach out, grab the device and start exploring your app themselves. Behind the smartphone image, you can add a solid-colored background or choose a background photo to subtly reinforce your brand and lend extra visual interest to the page. We’d recommend choosing a photo that adds depth and texture without a lot of bold elements to distract from the main event. Finally, this section makes it easy for you to offer your app in several formats. The most current official logos for the Apple app store, Google Play, and Amazon are built into the template, and it's simple to link them to those marketplaces. Of course, you can easily remove any logos that aren’t relevant to you. Call-to-action buttons throughout the page let you direct traffic anywhere you like or collect leads’ information through a LeadBox™ opt-in form.

Social Proof & Clean Design

The Apple, Amazon, and Google logos all contribute a sense of authority to the top fold of the page. Just below, you can add extra authority from a different source. If your product or business has made any media appearances, include logos for those outlets here.

Next comes one of several flexible content sections that allow you to show off different aspects of your product. Rectangular image fields make it easy to swap in your own photos, and the clean lines of the default typeface and other graphic elements make your headlines and descriptions pop. In between these content sections, you can even add a video to provide variety and multimedia insight into what you offer.

Concise & Comprehensive Features Section

screen 4

Have a lot to say about your product? Don’t make visitors sift through dense paragraphs to find it. Instead, make a list of the most important features and benefits you have to offer, then give each its own mini-section. The Mobile App Download Page is designed to make even complex products simple to understand for your visitors. In this section, icons give a quick visual guide to your information, short subheads give further direction, and description fields help readers zero in on the most compelling details.

A Final Screen That Circles Back

If visitors still haven’t purchased or opted in by the time they reach the bottom of the page, they’ll get one more push from a vivid countdown timer—a surefire way to boost your conversion rate when there’s a deadline for action. You may want to turn this timer on if you’re using this page to drum up interest for a product launch, promote beta access to a new app or program, or make a limited-time offer.

Of course, few pages convert at 100%, so the Mobile App Download Page gives the unconvinced some additional ways to stay connected with your company. A set of social sharing icons mimics the circular design of the countdown timer, which helps draw people toward your social platform links in the footer. They’ll also find a minimalistic navigation menu, set up to link to your blog, FAQ page, and About page by default. Take a little time to think about what you’d like visitors who don’t opt in on this page to see next and use this area to send them there—maybe it’s your home page, or maybe it’s a low-commitment free offer that will help them see the value in your product. To give your own app or other digital product a gorgeous home base, download all the files that make up this template below. (It’s totally free.)
