[cta-box] Our CEO Clay Collins has said many times that he thinks design is becoming the new copywriting. What he means is that a lot of times you can say more with the design of your landing page than you can by filling it with loads and loads of copy. A prime example of this is a page we’ve just released at LeadPages and have made available for download below. It’s called the Elegant Basic Opt-in Page. This page is beautiful in its simplicity but massively effective in what it conveys. With any opt-in page, the main goal is obviously to get someone to opt in. With this page, it subtly does that with this arrow here that points down to the opt in button and this brackets style arrow that points over at the opt-in button here. This allows you to point at the button while being subtle about it instead of having big red flashing arrows. Then when somebody actually clicks the button, the page features of two-step opt-in which we’ve talked extensively about in the past and we’ll link to some posts below about why two-step opt-ins are so important. Exploring the page further we have the area for an attention grabbing headline at the top, the video placeholder allows you to have a thumbnail of the video you’re giving away. This thumbnail should be something that looks exciting and will create curiosity. Now if you don’t want to give away a video, you can also use an image of something like a book you’re giving away or a free report or whatever it is that you want to give away. The image coupled with the benefit points here to the right of that will boost curiosity to the point that someone viewing this page will click on the button. Finally at the bottom of the page, you have your social proof section that allows people to see the brands you’ve worked with without you having to effectively toot your own horn. This does it for you and is way more effective. Let’s take a look at how to customize this page inside of LeadPages. Find the Elegant Basic Opt-in Page and slide to use this template. I’m going to be giving away a valuable video for opt-ins so I’m going to add my logo at the top then I’m going to add my compelling headline to the headline section and like with all pages inside of LeadPages you simply click on something to edit it. Now I’m going to edit the benefits that they’ll get from watching my video. Now something really cool about this page if you want to add more benefits to this section, the section will expand or contract depending on how many benefits that you’re going to be putting in this box. Now I’m going to add compelling thumbnail of my video so it creates a curiosity I need. From there I’m going to select my integration as well as which list I want to add people to and I have the option to integrate this page with GoToWebinar so it would function also as a webinar registration page. This means that not only would people get my video but they’d be registered for an upcoming webinar if I wanted to use that option. If I turn on Facebook registration people could opt in using their Facebook details. Now I’m going to move down to the brand section. If for some reason, you don’t want to use this, all you have to do is simply click hide. I’m going to update the brands that I’ve been seen through. Just click on 1 and select your image and do that for the rest of them. Now I’ll name the page then save the page. Once I save the page, it’s now live on the internet and as soon as I hit publish, LeadPages gives me a URL I can immediately view. So let’s go there and view the page. Now here we are and this is the page we just created live on the internet. So back at the publishing window, you can also publish the page to WordPress, publish the page to Facebook as a Facebook tab or you can download the file and put it on your own server. If you’re not a LeadPages customer you will need to be a coder or hire a coder to make this downloadable template below work. For nonLeadPages customers, it’s a bit more difficult to set up. Here’s what you’ll need to do if you’re not a LeadPages customer. If you’re a developer, click on the link below and opt-in to get this opt-in page and our LeadMagnet delivery system will deliver it to you. Modify the HMTL and CSS using your coding skills or the coder you’ve hired. Integrate it with your autoresponder, WordPress, etc., get the landing page code you’ve generated and finally publish the page. So these are all the steps that you’ll need to take if you’re not a LeadPages customer. If you are a LeadPages customer, you don’t need to do anything. The pages are already in the member’s area and you can start using it there. My question for you, how do you plan on using this page in your specific business? Let us know in the comments below this video. If you’re not a LeadPages customer and you’d like to use this template, head to www.LeadPages.net to get LeadPages.
